Current position

Postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) of the University of Firenze.

January 2008 – May 2011 – International PhD on “Mitigation of Risk due to Natural Hazards on Structures and Infrastructures” joint between the University of Firenze (Italy) and T.U. Braunschweig (Germany), where he defended the PhD thesis titled: “Drought Risk for water supply systems based on low-flow regionalisation”. During the PhD he spent six months at the Leichtweiß Institut für wasserbau at the T.U. Braunschweig (Germany) and four months as a visiting researcher at the Departamento de Hidráulica y Energética, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid (Spain).

April 2007 – Master of Science in Hydraulic Civil Engineering at the University of Firenze.

Research interests

  • River low flow estimation and evaluation using low flow indices and peak flow evaluation in ungauged sites through regional analysis.
  • River flow interpolation methods.
  • Drought mitigation measures and reservoirs management.
  • Water resources management in developing countries.
